Making Social Impact Easy: HelpingHands

Making Social Impact Easy: HelpingHands

HelpingHands is a location-based recommendation
web app designed to connect users with local volunteer opportunities and donation spots in an easy way. It stands out for its simplicity, providing a seamless and accessible user experience.
Project Background
HelpingHands is a personal project developed during my studies at Careerfoundry following an open brief for a location-based recommendation web app.

The project guidelines contained the following challenges:
Developing an idea for a location-based recommendation web app that addresses concrete user frustrations with current online services, offering a straightforward solution. The development of the solution should go through a UX phase and a UI phase by applying appropriate user-centric approaches and methodologies to come up with the final product design.
My Role
Responsible for all project phases, starting with the UX phase and finishing with the UI phase. The UX Phase laid the groundwork for the UI phase by highlighting the problem, exploring a solution and providing insights into user needs and frustrations, which informed the visual design decisions and interface elements in the UI phase.
Methods
User-Centered Design Process, Design Thinking Process, Principles of Lean UX
Tools: Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lyssna
